HID has launched the HID Signo Décor Reader 30, a flush-mount access control device designed to combine trusted security with the aesthetic requirements of high-design, high-traffic environments.
Announced in Singapore on 16 September 2026, the reader is aimed at architects, specifiers and systems integrators working on projects where access control hardware must complement the surrounding environment. Potential applications include design-led lobbies, hotels, transport hubs and mixed-use developments.
The Signo Décor Reader 30 mounts flush on European- and China-style back boxes and is positioned behind a robust glass face. It carries an IK10 rating for impact resistance and an IP65 rating for indoor and outdoor use. The reader is available in black or white, with a 90 x 90 mm form factor. It is currently available to order in Europe, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, according to industry reports.
“Security should not force a choice between how a space looks and how well it is protected,” said Prabhuraj Patil, senior director, Physical Access Control Solutions for ASEAN and the India Subcontinent at HID. “This belief is what drives HID’s product development: to give customers choice without asking them to trade away the trust they have placed in our Signo line.”
The reader uses the same architecture as other products in the HID Signo family. Its security features include EAL5+ certified secure element hardware, support for the SIO data model and Open Supervised Device Protocol for encrypted, two-way communication with control panels.
Native Bluetooth and NFC support enables users to authenticate with smartphones as well as conventional access cards. The device supports HID Mobile Access and digital wallet credentials, giving organisations flexibility as they expand mobile access programmes.
For estates and facilities teams managing multiple buildings, Signo Décor can be updated and monitored through HID Reader Manager, or remotely through HID Linq. This allows firmware and configuration changes to be managed without sending technicians to individual doors.
HID is also offering the technology as a module for integration into intercoms, lifts, turnstiles and other access hardware. The approach allows original equipment manufacturers to apply a consistent design language and credential experience across a wider range of access points.
