GetGo powers seamless mobility with Datadog observability

GetGo powers seamless mobility with Datadog observability

Singapore-based carsharing platform GetGo has deployed Datadog’s AI-powered observability and security platform to gain full-stack visibility across its cloud-native infrastructure, accelerating incident resolution and engineering productivity.

The move comes as the company, which operates over 3,000 vehicles across 1,700 locations, prepares for regional expansion beyond Singapore.

Unified monitoring drives efficiency

Prior to adopting Datadog, GetGo’s engineering teams relied on fragmented monitoring tools that struggled to keep pace with the complexity of its distributed, event-driven microservices architecture on AWS.

Manual correlation of issues across services slowed root cause analysis and increased operational overhead, while limited visibility into mobile user sessions hampered rapid diagnosis of customer-facing problems.

By consolidating application performance monitoring (APM), real user monitoring (RUM), infrastructure monitoring, log management, dashboards, sensitive data scanner, and software composition analysis into a single platform, GetGo has eliminated context switching and unified observability across its entire stack.

The implementation was facilitated by Datadog’s broad multi-language SDK support, enabling smooth integration across GetGo’s diverse technology environment.

Quantifiable gains in reliability and velocity

The results have been measurable. Bug investigation times, which previously took several hours, have been cut by 50–60%, freeing engineers to focus on feature development and innovation.

Mean time to detection (MTTD) and mean time to resolution (MTTR) have both fallen by an average of 30–40%, reducing downtime and outages while bolstering platform reliability.

Datadog’s RUM has been particularly transformative, providing unprecedented visibility into mobile application behaviour, user sessions, and behavioural patterns. Teams can now track user journeys, surface previously undetected issues, and respond more quickly to performance bottlenecks—delivering a smoother, more consistent experience for customers.

Engineering confidence for scale

“Datadog has fundamentally changed how our teams operate. Every engineering team now relies on it as the backbone of their monitoring, troubleshooting, and reliability operations,” said Kirivarnan Kumarasamy, director of engineering at GetGo.

“We can detect and resolve incidents before they significantly impact customers, giving our engineers the confidence to move quickly without compromising reliability and supporting both our day-to-day performance and longer-term ambitions.” Kirivarnan Kumarasamy

Looking ahead, GetGo is exploring AI-augmented capabilities such as Datadog’s Bits AI SRE and Cloud SIEM to further boost engineering productivity, personalise platform experiences, and support expansion into new markets.

“As carsharing becomes an increasingly critical part of urban mobility infrastructure, the stakes for platform reliability have never been higher,” said Adrian Towsey, vice president of commercial sales for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Datadog.

“With that foundation now in place, GetGo teams can dedicate more time to building and innovation, while upholding the seamless mobility experience customers depend on.” Adrian Towsey
