European satellite operator Kinéis and Netmore Group, a global leader in low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) connectivity, have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an immediately deployable hybrid satellite and terrestrial Internet of Things (IoT) solution across the 18 countries where Netmore operates.
The collaboration addresses growing demand for uninterrupted IoT connectivity in areas beyond the reach of ground-based networks, positioning the two companies at the forefront of a market projected to grow nearly tenfold from $8.6 billion in 2025 to $89.4 billion by 2034.
Closing connectivity gaps with a single platform
Through the agreement, Kinéis’ satellite connectivity—delivered via its sovereign European constellation of 25 satellites dedicated to IoT and Automatic Identification System (AIS) services—is now available directly through Netmore’s ThingPark platform.

For Netmore, which serves utilities, water, infrastructure, and smart city sectors, the partnership adds a critical layer of resilience. For Kinéis, it demonstrates the ability to partner with a major massive IoT player on an international scale ahead of a space summit reaffirming Europe’s ambitions in the sector.
Tangible benefits for end users
The hybrid model ensures uninterrupted tracking and monitoring of assets wherever they are located. Terrestrial networks provide responsiveness in densely covered areas, while satellites take over everywhere else, guaranteeing global coverage even where no ground infrastructure exists or can be installed. Network switching between LPWAN and satellite is fully automated, requiring no manual intervention.
This complementarity enables businesses to remotely monitor sensitive equipment or sites without human intervention; shift from reactive to predictive maintenance by detecting warning signs before failures occur; manage risks such as leaks or fire outbreaks even outside conventional coverage areas; and optimise routes through continuous asset tracking. The result is constant operational control, rapid anomaly response, and the service continuity demanded by sensitive sectors.
Faster time-to-market with proven solutions
Kinéis already offers proven hybrid LoRaWAN/satellite products across key verticals, allowing Netmore’s customers to deploy operational hybrid connectivity immediately without additional hardware development.
Offerings include Track Value and Beepro (Beepings) for uninterrupted asset geolocation; Sentiv for remote monitoring of water meters, tanks, and facilities in remote areas; and Sylvanet (Dryad) for environmental monitoring and wildfire detection independent of pre-existing network coverage.
Both companies are members of the LoRa Alliance, and the partnership aligns with the Alliance’s evolving technical roadmap for hybrid terrestrial–satellite connectivity. A planned Satellite Discovery Enhancements extension will standardise how commercial off-the-shelf LoRaWAN devices discover and connect to satellite constellations, reinforcing the long-term standards foundation underpinning the collaboration.
