The Hong Kong Jockey Club has been crowned Hong Kong’s Most Attractive Employer in the 2026 Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR), after polling 2,500 locally-based respondents.
Almost three in four respondents (74.3%) said they would be willing to work for the Hong Kong Jockey Club. It scored highest of all companies on the most important EVP driver, “good work-life balance”, and also led on “contributes to society & the environment”, “good reputation”, “strong management and leadership”, “job security” and “equal opportunities”.
Work-life balance remains the top factor for Hong Kongers when choosing an ideal employer, with the research highlighting that true balance is driven by tangible workplace conditions: a good work environment (48%), reasonable workloads and expectations (44%), and flexible work arrangements (42%).
Randstad’s wider 2026 REBR findings show that, across markets, salary and benefits, work-life balance, job security and career progression are the main reasons people choose an employer, underscoring the shift from pay alone to overall workplace experience.
The Club’s talent strategy is rooted in a people-first approach that prioritises employee well-being, flexibility and inclusion. [press release] It offers diverse career opportunities and a range of employment models designed to support employees at different life and career stages, complemented by family-friendly and inclusive policies.
Staff have access to a broad suite of health and wellness programmes covering mindfulness, stress management, physical health, time management, parenting support and other resources to help them thrive professionally and personally.
“We are incredibly honoured to be recognised as Hong Kong’s Most Attractive Employer in the 2026 Randstad Employer Brand Research. This award is particularly meaningful because it reflects the views of people in Hong Kong and what they value most in an employer,” said Paul Hotchan, head of Talent Acquisition at The Hong Kong Jockey Club.
“At The Hong Kong Jockey Club, we are committed to creating an environment where our people feel valued, supported and empowered to thrive, both professionally and personally. Founded in 1884, the Club operates an integrated business model spanning racing, membership, responsible wagering and lottery, and charities and community contribution, making it one of the city’s major employers and largest single taxpayers.
Natellie Sun, managing director of Randstad Greater China and Southeast Asia, said: “By looking beyond personal wellness and work-life balance, the Club builds a vital bridge between professional growth and social purpose. It empowers individuals to find deeper meaning in their daily work by enriching the lives of the broader regional community.”
