DigiLeap: Transforming Sustainability with AI for a Net-Zero Future
The Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) has unveiled DigiLeap - calling it an innovative AI-driven decarbonisation platform designed to accelerate Singapore and ASEAN’s transition to net-zero emissions. Developed in collaboration with KPMG, DigiLeap connects over 200 enterprises, including financial institutions and technology providers, fostering collaboration and mobilising climate finance for green projects.
DigiLeap stands out as the first platform of its kind, utilizing advanced AI algorithms to create tailored matches between businesses seeking sustainable solutions and providers of decarbonisation technologies. This strategic matchmaking enhances access to sustainable financing and innovative resources, vital for impactful climate action across key sectors such as energy, construction, and real estate.
According to Kavita Gandhi, executive director of SEAS, “The DigiLeap platform is essential in transforming climate ambitions into actionable decarbonisation for Singapore companies.”
Aligned with the priorities of COP29, DigiLeap aims to bridge the investment gap in sustainability initiatives, currently hosting over 10 green projects and poised for rapid expansion. The platform’s capabilities enable it to support projects valued under US$10 million, focusing on areas such as renewable energy and smart grid technology, industrial decarbonisation, and green construction.
Sharad Somani, partner and head of ESG Consulting at KPMG in Singapore, highlighted that the platform addresses significant barriers businesses face in their sustainability journeys, providing direct access to proven technological solutions and innovative green financing. He stated, “DigiLeap embodies the shared commitment to making decarbonisation accessible, measurable, and transformative for businesses.”
DigiLeap has garnered support from various organizations, including Enterprise Singapore and the Asian Development Bank, and has onboarded key partners such as SGTech and the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce. These partnerships aim to enhance resource sharing and collaboration, amplifying the platform’s collective impact.
In addition to its matchmaking services, DigiLeap features stakeholder mapping and a networking hub to facilitate the development and scaling of green projects. It also offers learning resources to help businesses adopt sustainable practices, further contributing to global climate action. With its ambitious vision, DigiLeap is set to play a pivotal role in Singapore’s journey towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.
