Juniper Networks claims that it has significantly enhanced its AI-Native Networking Platform, enabling customers to fully leverage the potential of Wi-Fi 7, also known as the 802.11be amendment. This new technology promises improved throughput, reduced latency, and greater reliability, crucial for high-density environments.
At the heart of this launch are the new Juniper Mist Wi-Fi 7 access points (APs) and high-power EX Series switches. These advanced solutions not only deliver exceptional performance but also integrate Juniper's award-winning Mist AI, ensuring seamless and secure transitions to the latest wireless technology. “This combination of ultra-low latency, increased capacity, and AI-driven operations has the potential to transform how students engage with technology in the classroom,” said Ben Shapiro, senior network engineer at Eugene School District 4J.
The AP47 Series access points offer tri-band, four-radio capabilities, alongside AI-driven Radio Resource Management (RRM) designed specifically for Wi-Fi 7. This feature automates channel and power optimization, maximizing performance without manual tuning. “Juniper’s unique AI for Wi-Fi 7 leverages reinforced learning to optimize settings, helping our customers move away from complex legacy systems,” noted Sudheer Matta, GVP Products for Campus and Branch at Juniper Networks.
Additionally, the new EX4400 series switches enhance sustainability and streamline IT operations. With support for higher power devices and a cloud-native architecture, these switches can power IoT devices directly, reducing inefficiencies. Chris DePuy, founder & technology analyst at 650 Group, emphasized that Juniper’s automation significantly reduces networking-related issues.
With these advancements, Juniper is poised to redefine wired and wireless networking, delivering unparalleled scale, agility, and security in the evolving digital landscape.
