For IoT and security leaders across Asia, the convergence of Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT) presents both opportunities and escalating cyber risks.

As industries embrace digital transformation, the once-isolated OT environments are now increasingly interconnected with IT systems, creating a larger attack surface that cybercriminals are eager to exploit. Trellix's latest Network Detection and Response (NDR) innovations offer a timely solution to address these challenges, providing unified visibility and enhanced threat defense across complex OT/IT environments.

The integration of Trellix NDR with Nozomi Networks is particularly significant. It extends visibility into OT environments without requiring an agent installation, a crucial factor for many industrial setups.

This integration allows for the correlation of Nozomi Networks' AI-powered alerts, assets, and network behaviours with enterprise traffic, providing a unified view of both IT and OT landscapes. This enhanced visibility enables security teams to detect anomalies within OT traffic and bridge the IT and OT Security Operations Centre (SOC), supporting threat hunting and forensics.

"We know cybercriminals are increasingly targeting the OT-IT boundary, where threats can hide in the absence of complete visibility," said Rohit Unnikrishnan, SVP product management at Trellix. "To keep pace, organizations must prioritize proactive defense with enhanced perimeter visibility and enriched intelligence extending across environments for greater resilience and risk management."

This proactive approach is essential, given that 82% of CISOs believe that a failure to converge OT and IT security will increase organisational risk and compliance exposure.

Trellix NDR's AI-powered detections disrupt advanced attacks at every stage of the MITRE ATT&CK framework, enabling faster remediation. The platform's hyperautomation capabilities, with a no-code workflow builder, automate response and security processes, significantly reducing the mean time to detect and respond to threats like encrypted traffic detections and lateral movements.

For Asian organisations, where rapid industrialisation and the growing adoption of Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices are driving the OT security market, solutions like Trellix NDR are becoming indispensable.

By providing enhanced visibility, AI-powered detections, and hyperautomation, Trellix NDR empowers security teams to accelerate investigation and response, strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure and supporting compliance with evolving regulatory requirements
