Keysight Technologies has unveiled a groundbreaking series of sampling oscilloscopes designed specifically for testing 1.6T optical transceivers. These new instruments—both a single optical channel DCA-M and a dual optical channel DCA-M—aim to enhance the efficiency and reliability of optical interconnects crucial for AI data centre operations.
As the demand for AI-driven data centre networks escalates, the challenges associated with high-speed optical testing have intensified. "The rapid deployment of 1.6T optical interconnects presents significant measurement challenges," explained Dr. Joachim Peerlings, vice president of Network and Data Center Solutions at Keysight Technologies. He emphasised the need for precise test equipment capable of handling extreme data rates while ensuring signal integrity.
The DCA-M sampling oscilloscopes are built to meet these exacting standards. With integrated clock recovery supporting data rates up to 120 GBaud, they simplify test setups and reduce overall testing time. This is essential for manufacturing environments where efficiency and scale are paramount.
The oscilloscopes provide exceptional measurement capabilities, including high sensitivity and low jitter, which are vital for maintaining measurement margins in high-speed environments. They also feature FlexOTO Optical Test Optimisation software, which maximises instrument utilisation and test efficiency, significantly lowering the total cost of testing.
Keysight’s innovative solutions not only address current operational challenges but also set the stage for future advancements in AI infrastructure. "Enabling next-generation data centres and AI clusters raises the bar for time-to-market and performance," Dr. Peerlings added.
