Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise (ALE) launched OmniVista Terra, an intelligent on-premises network management system (NMS) designed to enhance operational efficiency and control for enterprises.
This new solution aims to provide comprehensive visibility and security, complementing ALE's cloud-based offering, OmniVista Cirrus.
OmniVista Terra is particularly tailored for sectors such as transportation, energy, healthcare, and defence, where local hosting is often a regulatory requirement. By offering similar advanced features as its cloud counterpart, Terra allows organisations to manage their networks effectively while ensuring compliance with stringent security protocols.
A standout feature of OmniVista Terra is its integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline daily operations. The new AI-chatbot interface enables network administrators to interact using natural language, facilitating real-time responses to network inquiries, configuration advice, and troubleshooting support. This innovation is expected to significantly enhance operational efficiency, allowing IT teams to resolve issues swiftly.
Moreover, the system provides enhanced analytics for deeper insights into network performance, user behaviour, and device status. Its robust observability capabilities enable real-time data monitoring, which simplifies root cause analysis for network issues. This functionality will be crucial for managing complex network environments, especially in highly regulated industries.
OmniVista Terra’s integration with ALE’s AIOps tool, the OmniVista Network Advisor, further enhances incident management, aiding in identifying root causes and streamlining mitigation efforts across the network. The solution also seamlessly integrates with security measures and Private 5G wireless solutions like Versa and Celona, ensuring unified control over the entire customer network.
ALE EVP of the network business division, Stephan Robineau, emphasised that the OmniVista platform is central to their strategy of unifying, simplifying, and automating AI-powered operations.
He noted that OmniVista Terra extends unmatched network visibility, control, and security to on-premises deployments, reinforcing its significance in today’s complex network landscape.
As organisations increasingly seek to enhance operational resilience and security, the launch of OmniVista Terra could mark a pivotal advancement in on-premises network management solutions.
