Antaira Technologies has introduced the LMP-0702G-SFP-24-T-V2, a robust Light Layer 3 managed Ethernet switch designed for demanding industrial environments. This switch offers both copper and fibre Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, aimed at enhancing the networking capabilities of industrial operations.

The increasing complexity of production-level networks necessitates reliable data exchange between IT systems and machinery. Brian Tutor, Sr. Product Marketing Manager at Antaira, emphasised the switch's multiple ports, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and high bandwidth, which are essential for modern industrial applications.

The LMP-0702G-SFP-24-T-V2 features four Gigabit Ethernet ports that support 802.3at/af PoE, supplying up to 30W per port, along with one data-only Gigabit port and two dual-rate SFP fibre ports for long-distance connectivity. Its built-in PoE software allows for remote monitoring and diagnostics, enhancing operational reliability.

Designed to accept low voltage inputs (12VDC to 55VDC), the switch includes an internal DC-to-DC power booster, making it suitable for various applications, including solar and vehicle power systems. With PoE power budgets of up to 120W, it can effectively power connected devices in challenging settings.

Network redundancy is critical in industrial applications to prevent downtime, which can adversely affect productivity and compliance. The LMP-0702G-SFP-24-T-V2 incorporates the ITU-T G.8032 ERPS redundancy protocol, allowing for quick switchover to backup paths within 50 milliseconds if communication fails. Additionally, it supports RSTP and MSTP protocols to enhance network reliability and reduce latency.

The switch also includes advanced security features such as VLAN, QoS, and support for SNMP, which facilitate improved management of remote SCADA systems. Its compatibility with the latest Light Layer 3 firmware allows for static routing between VLANs.

Engineered to operate in extreme conditions, the LMP-0702G-SFP-24-T-V2 meets IP30 standards and functions across a temperature range of -40° to 75°C, making it suitable for applications in factory automation, wastewater treatment, and oil and gas industries.
